Fort Zachary Taylor State Park

Located on the westernmost tip of Key West, the State Park offers beach and water sports, nature trails, a basic restaurant and a fortress from the pre-US Civil War era. With the motor-home you could park here directly with sea view. Unfortunately, it is only a park open at daytime and no overnight campsite. Unfortunately, you have to look for a different campsite for the night. Nevertheless, it is worth to park here for the entire day as it is easy by a few minutes bicycle ride to get to the center of Key West, where parking with the camper would be difficult.

 

 

 

On the way to downtown Key West was a coastal defense boat, which apparently is open as a museum on some days.
